*Over 50 NEW perennial & ornamental grass offerings – bringing the total cultivars to about 300!
*An expanded selection of vegetable & herb plants -- new offerings include strawberries, raspberries, rhubarb, horseradish, sweet potatoes & many new heirloom tomato offerings
*Customized or ready-to-use “saladio” containers (salad for your patio) You can grow your own vegetables & herbs on your patio or deck if you don’t have a garden.
*Let us custom design and pot your containers & hanging baskets. Bring your own container or purchase one of our beautiful glazed terra cotta pots. We can help you with living centerpieces for your wedding or party!
*An expanded heirloom seed collection
*New display gardens to learn from & enjoy
*Goldfish for your pond! Paul has decided to part with some of our very hardy goldfish for your outdoor pond.
*Herb Gardens-to-Go make the perfect mini-herb garden or a great gift. Ask us for our list of cooking ideas for fresh herbs!
*We have just started a Galena Area Volunteer Committee for “Plant A Row for the Hungry”. The need is great. Check out the national “Plant A Row” website www.gardenwriters.org and contact us to become involved on a local level with the Galena Community Garden & Galena Food Pantry.
May 9th & 10th - Plant Addict Weekend
Bring Mom and your friends! Grab a complimentary cup of coffee or lemonade & walk our beautiful display gardens for inspiration. Expert growers, designers and gardeners will be on hand to answer your questions and give free advice on plant care. Shopping opportunities will be at their peak -- Browse our huge selection of perennials, ornamental grasses, specialty annuals, herbs, native plants, water plants, pottery, birdhouses, garden art & garden care products! We're planning big surprises...you'll have to come and see!
May 15th - 17th - Tri State Christian School Fundraising Days
Plant the seed of faith & grow the blessings at Tri State Christian School in Galena. Kids from IL, WI & IA attend Tri State (including our son Kyle) are blessed to be able to attend such a wonderful school. Shop one of these days and a donation of 5% of our total sales will be donated to the school. Download our poster/flyer for more information!
May 16th - 11:00 a.m. "Birdscaping Your Yard"
A class with Julie Bruser from Wild Birds Unlimited. Learn how to attract the greatest variety of songbirds to your yard by creating a backyard habitat that contains the right trees, bushes, and plants; a water source; shelter; and places to raise young. You’ll learn how to inventory what you currently have and determine what you can add that will turn a yard into your own personal wildlife refuge. Receive a list of bird-friendly plants, many available at Murphy’s Gardens. Program given by Julie Bruser of Wild Birds Unlimited.
May 23rd - Fundraising Day for Galena Community Gardens
Contribute to fund the vegetable plots for the Galena Food Pantry. A portion of our sales will be donated to this worthy cause. Contact Lori Murphy (chairperson) for “Plant A Row for the Hungry” Galena Area Volunteer Committee.

May 23rd - 11:00 a.m. "Vegetable Gardening in Containers & Landsapes"
No room for a garden you say? Learn to grow dozens of vegetables & herbs in both containers & landscapes for beauty you can eat! Natural gardening methods will be taught with recycling in mind.
